Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: June 4, 2026
Last Updated: August 20, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Pinelabs Payment Assistant ("the Service"), a B2B payment integration platform with AI capabilities operated by Pine Labs Limited ("we", "us", "our"). The Service enables businesses and AI assistants to interact with Pine Labs payment APIs through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server interface.
By accessing or using the Service, you ("Merchant", "you", "your") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Service.
2. The Service
Pinelabs Payment Assistant provides read-only access to your Pine Labs payment data for businesses and AI assistants:
AI-Powered Payment Insights — Enables AI assistants (such as ChatGPT, Claude, and other MCP-compatible clients) to securely retrieve Pine Labs payment information on your behalf.
Payment Link Lookup — Retrieve the details and status of existing payment links.
Order & Transaction Lookup — Retrieve checkout order details and order payments, and search transactions by identifier.
Settlement Reports — Retrieve settlement details and reconciliation reports.
Subscription Insights — View subscription plans, subscriptions, and presentation (mandate) details.
Card BIN Lookup — Look up non-sensitive card metadata (network, issuer, card type) from a card BIN/IIN prefix.
Merchant Analytics — Retrieve transaction success-rate metrics for your account.
Developer Tools — Access Pine Labs API documentation and generate integration/checkout code samples.
The Service is strictly read-only. It retrieves and displays information from Pine Labs APIs and does not create, modify, cancel, capture, refund, or otherwise move funds or initiate any financial transaction. It acts as an intermediary read layer and does not independently store or retain payment instrument details. The Service never accesses or returns full card numbers, CVVs, PINs, passwords, or one-time passwords (OTPs).
3. Eligibility & Account Registration
To use the Service, you must:
1. Be a registered business entity or authorised representative of one.
2. Hold a valid Pine Labs / Plural merchant account with active API credentials.
3. Comply with all applicable laws, including the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007 and RBI guidelines.
4. Be at least 18 years of age or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API credentials (Client ID, Client Secret) and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
Process transactions for illegal goods, services, or activities.
Circumvent fraud detection, anti-money laundering, or KYC requirements.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
Overwhelm the Service with excessive API requests intended to degrade performance (denial-of-service).
Access another merchant's data or impersonate another user.
Transmit malware, viruses, or any harmful code through API requests.
Violate any applicable card network rules (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, etc.).
Use the Service for personal, non-business transactions unless explicitly permitted.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any violation of this section without prior notice.
5. Your Data
5.1 Data We Process
The Service retrieves payment-related data on your behalf, including but not limited to:
Merchant identifiers and API credentials (encrypted at rest and in transit).
Transaction details returned by read queries (amounts, currency, order references, payment statuses).
Customer information contained in the records you query (such as name, email, or phone number, where present on the record).
5.2 Data Hosting & Security
All data is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Mumbai region (ap-south-1), ensuring data residency within India.
Data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.
We implement industry-standard security controls aligned with PCI-DSS requirements.
Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is filtered and masked in logs.
5.3 Data Retention
Transaction request/response data is retained only for the duration necessary to complete the API call and for audit/debugging purposes as required by regulation.
We do not store card numbers, CVVs, or PINs at any point.
5.4 Your Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
Ensuring you have obtained appropriate consent from your customers before transmitting their data through the Service.
Complying with applicable data protection laws (IT Act, 2000; Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).
Securing your own systems and API credentials.
6. Billing
Access to the Service is included as part of your standard Pine Labs Payment Gateway merchant onboarding. There is no separate subscription fee for using Pinelabs Payment Assistant.
Billing is governed by the commercial terms agreed during your merchant sign-up and activation of payment modes.
Transaction processing charges, MDR, and other applicable fees follow the same rate card as your Pine Labs PG merchant agreement.
All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes (GST) unless stated otherwise.
No additional charges are levied for accessing payment APIs through the MCP Server interface beyond your existing PG merchant terms.
7. Cancellation & Refunds
7.1 Service Cancellation
You may discontinue use of the Service at any time by revoking your API credentials or contacting support.
Upon cancellation, your access to the Service will be terminated and no further API requests will be served.
As the Service is read-only, discontinuing it has no effect on your existing payments, orders, or settlements, which remain governed by your Pine Labs Payment Gateway account.
7.2 Refunds
The Service is read-only and does not initiate, process, or modify refunds. Refunds continue to be governed by your Pine Labs Payment Gateway merchant agreement and are performed through your existing Pine Labs channels (merchant dashboard or Payment Gateway APIs), not through this Assistant.
The refund window, eligibility criteria, and processing timelines are those defined in your PG merchant agreement with Pine Labs.
Where refund records exist, the Service may allow you to view their status; it cannot create or alter them.
For refund-related queries, contact us at pgsupport@pinelabs.com or call 1800-309-9007.
